A neatly organized wooden teacher’s desk in a bright K–12 classroom, covered with colorful laminated vocabulary cards, open bilingual picture dictionaries, and a laptop displaying a simple language-learning slide. Around the desk, tidy bins labeled with clear, bold words in multiple languages sit on low shelves, beside a whiteboard filled with neatly handwritten sentence frames in different colors. Soft morning sunlight filters through large windows, casting gentle highlights on the glossy lamination and faint shadows across the floor. Photographic realism from an eye-level perspective, with a shallow depth of field that keeps the desk sharply in focus while the classroom background softly blurs, creating a professional, calm, and inviting atmosphere suited to an EL teacher resource hub.

My name is Mandy Mosko, and I am an ESL educator with over ten years of experience supporting multilingual learners in K–12 classrooms. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with classroom teachers and administrators to develop instructional strategies that support language development and academic success for English learners. I am particularly interested in the integration of educational technology, blended learning environments, and instructional design practices that support effective teaching and learning.

About EL Teacher Hub

EL Teacher Hub was created as a learning journal as part of coursework in Technologically Driven Curriculum and Social Media at the American College of Education. The blog documents the design and development of a blended course titled Introduction to ESL, which was created to support adult educators preparing to work with English learners.

Through this blog, I reflect on instructional design decisions, technology integration, and authentic assessment strategies used throughout the course development process.

A close-up, overhead view of neatly arranged adult ESL classroom materials on a table: laminated vocabulary cards with simple images and words, a spiral notebook open to language objectives, colorful pens, sticky notes, and a tablet showing a basic English practice activity. Bright, soft lighting and clean background, photographic realism, professional and organized feel.
